Where is all the liked content?
Everything you liked has been moved to the �Liked� section of the news feed: vk.com/feed?section=likes. If you can�t see this section in the vk.com/feed, it can be added by clicking on the plus icon. After you open the section, you can tick the types of content you would like to see.
In the mobile app, you can open the menu and select �Liked�. Profiles and communities are now located on the right of the Bookmarks section, under the �Pages� subsection: vk.com/bookmarks?w=bookmarks_pages. Profiles that are blocked or deleted forever are now hidden from the Bookmarks, as well as communities that became closed if you weren�t a member in them. Thus, the numbers can be different than earlier.

How do I report a user?
There are few ways:
1. If an unknown user offends you without any reason, add this user to your Blacklist. Go to "Settings" → "Blacklist" or to vk.com/settings?act=blacklist. This will stop them from messaging you and from viewing your page. 2. If you notice someone sending spam, click on the dots icon in the top right corner of the post → "Report profile" or you can do it on that user's page below the profile photo. 3. You can do the same with pages that have adult content or spam. 4. If other person is using your personal information, please write to our Support team. Do not forget to add a link to a fake profile with your data and your photo in front of the request to our Support. It will help us solve your problem much faster. Please remember, our agents review only request sent by the person, whose data is being used.

How do I download music or videos?
Our site does not have this option. Not even for a fee.
Copyright laws have very tight restrictions. Sometimes we need to remove some songs from our site completely in order to avoid problems with copyright holders. You can imagine the consequences of allowing users to download music and video content from our site � we would have to shut down the music and video sections completely. This is why we need to abide by the rules and listen to music and watch videos online only. Please be careful: any software for music and video downloading is not safe. Sometimes they not only interfere with how the site operates but try to gain access to your profile.
One of the site sections is empty. What should I do?
Unfortunately, it happens sometimes. Our developers are always aware of these cases and fix them quickly. We kindly ask you to be patient as it won�t take long to solve.
If the problem is still present after 15 minutes, please write us about it. Do not forget to add related links and describe the problem in detail.

How to report a community?
You can always report inappropriate content using the dots button at the top-right of any post. Then choose one of the reasons:
� Verbal abuse � Adult content � Drug advocacy � Child pornography � Violence or extremism � Encouraging suicide In this case, there is no need to contact the Support team, since sending a report is enough. You can inform our Support about suspicious communities. When sending a request, please make sure it contains links to the community posts or any other content you consider questionable. To get a post link, click the publishing date of the post and copy the URL from the browser address bar. Same goes for other type of content. If it's a closed community, please attach screenshots in addition to links. NB: A report must be sent only on behalf of the affected user. That's hard to understand but some users are glad to have some black PR, that's why we have to be sure that the posted information is definitely unwanted by the person to whom it is dedicated.

How can I restore deleted messages?
There is no way to restore deleted messages.
However deleting messages works just on one side � your friend still has those messages, unless he has deleted them as well. You can ask your friend to forward them to you. You can forward up to 100 messages at once. Be careful � extensions, apps and sites that promise you to restore your deleted messages are dangerous. There is nothing behind these empty promises but malware that aims to steal your passwords. By using them you risk losing money and access to your page.
Another user is using my phone number. How can I link it to my page?
Please contact our Support team. Don't forget to send us your phone number, as this will help us solve the problem much faster.
Please do not link any numbers that aren't your own. Each number can only be linked a limited number of times. It is very important that the phone number attached to your account is up-to-date and accessible, otherwise, your profile could be an easy prey to hackers and spammers. If your phone number is attached to a different page, please send us the link to this page and tell us how it happened. This will also help us solve the problem much faster.

How can I shorten links?
Some links become broken when you share them with others, that is why we recommend that you use the URL Shortener here: vk.cc. All you need is to copy the URL you want to shorten, paste it into the text field, click "Shorten" and then copy the result.

This might be useful for administrators to learn about their communities' reach. Just click on the graph symbol on the right to find out more details. How can I share a post with friends or community members?
In order to do that click on the "Share" megaphone-button.
You can either: - share the post with friends and followers by posting it on your wall - repost it to a community you manage - send it in a message to a friend or to a chat you are a member of. Whichever way you choose you can add your thoughts regarding the post and it will get shared along with the post. There are three reasons why "On my wall" and "To my community" options aren't available: - the post is available only to user's friends. To make sure if that's the case, check if there's a lock sign on the post - the post is in a private or closed community - the post was published by a user, not a community. You can't reblog these posts just like people can't share posts left on your wall by users other than yourself.
How can I return to a group chat if I've left it and cleared the message history?
If you were in a chat but you decided to leave it and now you can�t return, you can do so using a chat invitation link.
Only the creator of a group chat can create an invitation link. This can be done on the desktop and mobile version of the website and on the VK app for iOS and Android. On the desktop version, as the chat creator, open the chat and click on its photo. In the window that opens, select �Invitation link� and send the link to the person who wants to return. On the mobile version, open the chat, tap the checkmark next to its name and select �Invitation link�. On the VK app for iOS and Android, open the chat and tap the chat photo. In the settings window that opens, select �Invitation link�. Anyone can join a group chat using an invitation link, but if someone was removed from a chat, not even a link will allow them to return. Links can be created on the desktop and mobile versions of the website and on the VK apps for iOS and Android and they can be used on any device. Right now, the maximum number of group chat members is 500. If the chat is full, former members won�t be able to rejoin. You can find a chat by searching for its name using the search box in Messages. This works with any name the chat had when you were a member. Important! If you cleared your message history, you can�t get it back, it�s just impossible. However, you can ask other members of the chat to forward you the messages, if they still have them.
Posts with malicious links in communities
On February 14, due to a bug, posts appeared in many communities containing a link to a malicious website. After clicking the link, a third party gained the ability to publish posts, impersonating the user who opened the article.
There�s no cause for alarm. Your passwords and communities are safe, and no information has been passed to any third parties. The issue has been localized and such posts have been deleted by the system.
My number is attached to two pages. What should I do?
Once you link your phone to a new page, it gets unlinked from your other page, because it is technically impossible to attach one phone number to two pages simultaneously.
Please, remember, that linking a number to a page is a very important procedure because it is a way of securing your page. This is why it is crucial not to play around with linking and unlinking your number without having a serious reason to do so. If, after linking your number to a new page, you've lost access to your previous profile, it�s probably because you have the same password on both pages. Change the password on your current profile and try to log into your old profile again. If you still can't log in, please contact our Support team and send us the phone number you used and links to both of your pages.

To solve this problem, we need the following information: 1. Link to the fake account with your personal information. 2. Photo of your face with your request in the background (i.e. near your monitor with your question displayed). We need all this to make sure that you are a real owner of the information.

We can't promise that we will definitely be able to restore the content, so please be careful when deleting something in the future. Unfortunately, the period of time when deleted content can be restored is very short, since the system keeps the information for no more than a few days. Unfortunately, there is no way to restore deleted messages.

How can I transfer money?
Open or start a conversation with the person to whom you would like to transfer money and click on the paperclip symbol (�Attach� button), choose �Money�, enter the sum and any comments, use a bank card and confirm the transfer. How can I hide my "online" status?
There is no invisibility feature, so your online status can't be hidden. But look on the bright side, you �ll always be able to know if your friends are currently on VK. After all, social networks are meant to be used for communication.
By the way, if you are watching a movie or listening to music and don't refresh the page, your "online" status gets removed after 5 minutes. Keep in mind that we have never offered the possibility to hide your online status. Programs that promise to do this are usually harmful and tend to incorporate strange ads into the site's layout. Most importantly, they are one of the most common ways through which scammers steal your personal data. Be careful!
How can I create an account on VK?
Registration on VK is free and available on the main page � vk.com.
Please remember, that to register, you need to enter your telephone number. Keep in mind that attaching the same number to two different pages isn't possible, so in order to create a new page, you will need to use a number which isn�t attached to another profile. We strongly recommend that you don�t use a virtual number when signing up. This method is popular among spammers, so we look at such things with suspicion. There is no reason to send invitations to friends. They can simply sign up themselves. Keep in touch with your loved ones!

Please note that there is a bell icon at the top of the page. All of your notifications and feedback can be found there.
By clicking on this bell, a drop-down menu will open. There you can find the newest notifications � a complete list can be found by clicking on "Show all" at the bottom of this section. In the "Notification" settings vk.com/feed?section=notifications, you can choose types of events you want to receive notifications about.
What's an anonymizer?
Anonymizers are sites that allow you to access a site via their own domain, thus allowing you to use VK via some kind of third-party intermediary. Some people use them when they can't access VK directly because it's blocked (for example, at school or work).
Be careful! These sites are dangerous. They ask for your password and they can share them with spammers and hackers. There are no "official mirrors" which allow you to access VK. We highly recommend to avoid using anonymizers (no matter if they are free or not). If you have already used one, be sure to change your password.
Why is music getting deleted from VK?
Unfortunately, not all songs can be freely distributed. Since some copyright holders are against their music being available online, we get requests to delete some songs. The law is on their side and they have the right to decide what happens to their music.
But that�s not a reason to be sad. We have a lot of great songs and there will only be more in the future, because more and more artists come to the simple conclusion: free music distribution only makes their music more popular. To be aware of new artists we advise you to subscribe to vk.com/vkmusicians, vk.com/vkmusic and vk.com/officialpages. If you are the copyright holder of a track that got deleted without your request, please contact our Support team and attach the track as a document to your message.

An ID is a sequence of numbers linked to each VK page. Every page receives this unique number after registration.
To find someone using their ID, type vk.com/idXXX, where XXX is the ID of the page into your browser's address bar. To find out what your ID is, go to "Settings" and click on "Profile link".
What is �Prometheus� and how can I get the fire badge?
�Prometheus� is an artificial intelligence that has been developed using machine learning technology and neural networks. We have trained it to seek out and support interesting authors. The system is constantly finding creators of unique content and follows their accomplishments. Talented users and interesting communities get a special badge in the shape of a flame as well as wider reach.
The mobile app�s �Suggestions� service shows an author�s posts to others that are not yet familiar with their works but might be interested in them. �The fire badge� is given for 7 days, which is also the amount of time the users and communities benefit from enhanced reach. This badge can be gotten more than once. Authors who continue to create and fascinate their audience will be honored by �Prometheus� again. How can I get the badge? Create unique materials and publish them on our site. This doesn�t mean that all of your materials need to be unique. If an artist posts their own work while at the same time publishing the works of an illustrator that inspires them, �Prometheus� will still honor them. But if a community�s posts only consist of links to another site, the mechanism won�t be able to determine if the material on the linked site is unique or not. If you follow this advice, but you don�t get the badge, don�t get discouraged. It doesn�t mean that your works now and in the future won�t be recognized. �Prometheus� only recently started working, but he can�t find and share all authors� interesting content at once. But the system is constantly learning and perfecting itself. Protecting the author We are teaching �Prometheus� to recognize original content and enter the source into the �Suggestions� section. In order for the algorithm to determine that your content is unique, it should be posted directly on VK. This is a form of technical protection. If you published materials on a different service or someone else beat you to posting the materials on our site, �Prometheus� won�t be able to tell that you were the author. What is spam?
Spam is any material that a user did not agree to receive. The quantity of spam that was sent is not important. The main thing is that the information does not interest the recipient.
Unfortunately, many users believe that spam can only consist of messages and comments, however, this is not the case. You have probably encountered bots; profiles created not for communicating but rather for promoting services. Such accounts resemble billboards in a way. On top of sending unpleasant messages these accounts also like posts and send friend requests. You are forced to view the advertisement since it is the first thing that catches your attention on these users' pages. Therefore, we ask that you only accept friend requests from people you know, and use your personal account for noncommercial purposes so that everyone is happy. If you would like to promote your business, you can create a community and develop it as you wish. Another common delusion is that adding someone to a group with the help of the "Invite friends" button is not spam. Yes, this is often true when invites are sent from a single account to people you know, but this is insufficient for spammers. They create several bots (or do something worse, like hacking people�s profiles) and send spam using those. This way of promoting may lead not only to a community getting blocked but also to all of the spamming accounts and the community administrators getting blocked as well. Please avoid all suspicious ways of promoting goods and services. This will help you avoid misunderstandings, and, more importantly, you will acquire grateful customers. How do I verify my community? Verified communities
A verified community is usually a well-known company, popular brand or famous person, and the head of this community is an official representative of the company or person.
We verify communities and public pages only when it�s absolutely necessary. For example, if there are already a lot of clone communities that were created by people who have nothing to do with the company. If there are only one or two clones, we deal with this as usual, and no verification is necessary. More information about verification is available in Russian here: http://vk.cc/3eZMQi. You can also connect a special community widget to your website (vk.com/dev/Community). This way your clients can join your community directly from your website and there won�t be any confusion with clone communities.
�Stories� section
Stories are a new way to share photos and short videos with friends on VK without publishing them on your page.
It�s available on the latest Android (vk.cc/android) and iPhone (vk.cc/iphone) versions of the VK app. On the desktop version of the site, stories can only be watched for now. You can take pictures or record videos (15 seconds or less). You can add graffiti, stickers and text, talk about what you�re doing right now and send holiday wishes to others. Your stories will be visible to friends and followers in the Stories block above the news feed for 24 hours after you publish it. Stories can be published both for your friends and followers as well as for individual friends. In this case, those stories will only be available to the friend you sent it to. Is it true that VK is shutting down?
No, it's not. Sometimes silly rumors about VK shutting down or some major changes in the way we operate get spread throughout our site. These rumors are fake and completely out of touch with reality. Don't pay any attention to them.

Can I see who has visited my page via the VK app (for example, �My Guests and Followers�)?
The current apps only analyze and give results about Likes and Comments left on your page. There is no ability to see a list of everyone who has visited your page.
If a user went to your page and didn�t leave a like or comment, their presence there will not be noted. You can read more about that here: vk.com/wall-22884714_7239.

The only way we can help is by blocking their account, but you should take into consideration that this blackmailer could be using other services as well. They might have copies of your photos and videos saved on their computer. Unfortunately, we can't do anything about that. To protect yourself, contact the police. Only they will be able to help you to deal with this unlawful activity.

Where is the calendar of events and birthdays?
To open the calendar of birthdays and events you are going to attend, just follow this link vk.com/friends?w=calendar or go to the "Friends" section and click the calendar icon at the top-right.
Please note it's available only for users with more than 10 friends. By the way notifications about your friends' birthdays will be shown under the bell icon at the top of the page.
How can I ask Support a question?
Please use the search bar above and enter in some keywords. For example: �Delete old page� or �create community�. It�s best to take unnecessary words out of your search. If you can�t find any results, make sure that there are no misspellings in your search.
Additionally, you can look through the rubric on the right and find articles devoted to specific sections of the site. If you didn't find an article that answered your questions, then click on "contact us" and let us know what search returned no results.
How can I delete my community?
To delete a community you need to remove all its content: members, photos, discussion boards, videos, music and all other information. If this is a group change its type to "Private". If it's a public page you'll need to convert it into a group using the button under the community's main photo and then make the group private. After this you'll need to leave the group clicking on "You are a member" �> "Leave community".
An empty community won't bother you anymore.
How can I create a story?
Stories are available in the latest version of the Android (vk.cc/android) and iPhone (vk.cc/iphone) versions of the VK app. In old versions of the mobile app, the section may not work. To create a story, click on the button �Story� in the news section.
Stories can only be watched, but not created, on laptops or desktop computers. As of now, there are no plans to create the Stories function for Windows Phone.
How do I get a check mark next to my name and what does it mean? Verified account
Verification makes it easier for people to find real celebrities in a world of fakes. We use the check mark badge to verify the pages of well-known actors, musicians, politicians, influencers and other famous people. The badge is a way to verify popularity, not to gain it.
We look at the following factors when determining whether to verify an account: � The person�s popularity on other websites � Attention to the person in the mass media � Wiki articles For more more information see http://vk.cc/3eZNnv (for now only available in Russian). Regular people don�t need to be verified and we also don�t consider local celebrities since their popularity isn�t widespread. Usually people with verified pages are easily recognized by the mass majority. If this isn�t you, chances are you don�t need to be verified. If you have noticed fakes of your account, send us links to them and we�ll see what we can do. We are pretty sure verification won�t be needed to deal with them.
New Bookmarks
We�ve updated the �Bookmarks� section. It looks and works the different way and can now be accessed here: vk.com/bookmarks.
Liked posts used to be automatically added to bookmarks. Now they are two different functions. All the posts you liked previously are now shown in the �Liked� section (https://vk.com/feed?section=likes). Liked photos are also there. For other types of content, use the �Cave to Bookmarks� button. You can do that with: - posts - articles - videos - links - podcasts - products To make the post appear in the Bookmarks, you need to click on the star icon or select �Save to Bookmarks� in the three dots menu (depends on the device). Profiles and communities are displayed in the separate block. If you click on it, you�ll see two subsections for them. One of the major updates is tags which you can use to organize bookmarked content. Profiles that are blocked or deleted forever are now hidden from the Bookmarks, as well as communities that became closed if you weren�t a member in them. Deleted products and articles that are hidden due to privacy settings are also removed from this section. You can�t add a closed community if you aren�t a member.

What happened to the "Invisible" status?
We�ve changed the way the Online status works. After a user leaves the site, the time of their last visit shown on the site has been shortened from 15 minutes to 5.
A side effect of this change is that now it�s impossible to stay outside of the network, even on unofficial VK applications. There are some third-party organizations that used this possibility, but we never recommend users to use them as we don�t know the nuances of their work and cannot attest to their program�s security.
How can I change the background?
There is no such option on our site because we believe in the importance of a unified style.
If the background of the site has suddenly changed it's time to worry about the security of your account and perform a fast check with the vk.com/av scanner. After this try to remember if you downloaded any third-party plugins or programs that promised "additional" features for VK. If so, please, delete them immediately for they can harm your computer and endanger the safety of your VK page.
How can I invite a friend to the site?
In the upper right-hand corner of the vk.com/friends page, click on the button �Find friends� and choose �Invite friends�.
Also, as a reminder, your friends can sign up themselves on the start page of vk.com. Sending invitations and signing up for VK is free.
Why is no one answering my question?
If you have already asked us a question, we will answer you as soon as we can. A notification about the answer will appear in the left-hand menu and we will also send you a message from our official page vk.com/id100.
There is no reason to ask the same question more than once. There�s no way for questions to get lost. You can find the list of questions you have already asked in the �My questions� tab or here: vk.com/support.
"Accessibility features" in Settings
This function is designed for users with poor vision which use special screen reader programs when working online.

Stickers on photos
On April 1st, 2017, VK gave users the ability to have fun with friends� profile pictures by adding an �Upgrade� button. The button gave you the ability to stick up to 10 joke stickers on a friend�s profile picture. This special feature only lasted for a day.
However, you can still modify your own pictures. You can open your profile picture, click on the �More� button and then �Effects�. Here you can add stickers to your photos as well as draw on them or add text! Have fun!
How many reports are needed in order to block a page?
A personal page or a community can only be banned if VK rules have been violated or we find out that it has been hacked.
When talking about breaking VK rules, one report is enough and quantity doesn�t play a role. Without a violation of the rules, no amount of reports will cause someone to get banned.
Post view counter
The post view counter is a new way of measuring you posts� popularity along with likes, reposts and comments. It has been available for publications since 1 January 2017 on.
The counter can be found on posts on your personal profile, on others� profiles as well as those in communities from its members. This information cannot be hidden and is available to all users on the site. It is impossible, however, to find out who exactly has seen your post. These statistics are available on the full and mobile versions of the site as well as on the iOS and Android versions of the VK mobile app.
How to get votes for VK�s birthday?
The 10th of October, 2006, is considered to be the official founding date of VK. However, we don�t have any such offer along the lines of free votes. Sometimes scammers think up such things to lure you to their site.
If you have already encountered one of these and sent a text message to a scammer�s number, please contact your mobile operator. It�s possible they may be able to return the money that was taken from your account. You should also change your password and run an antivirus scan on your computer. Never enter your password into any suspicious apps or on sites pretending to be VK.

Favorite stickers
Now every user can add up to 20 stickers to Favorites. To do that, open any chat or comment thread, open your sticker packs and click on the star icon in the upper right corner of a sticker. By doing this, you�ll create a new folder marked with a star in your sticker tab.

How can I hide the view count?
The view count can't be hidden and is public information, accessible to all users. This function has a rather useful purpose. Now you will be able to see how many people were interested by your post. The number of views is determined by a special algorithm and there�s no reason to not trust in them.
Why don�t I see mentions from communities and users?
Unfortunately, mentions are too often used by spammers and others who misuse them for their own suspicious purposes, therefore we had to rethink the algorithms. Now, users won�t see mentions if:
� they are not a part of the community or are not friends with the post�s author; � the post was published on a user�s page who isn�t friends with the user mentioned; � they were mentioned in a private or closed community, where the mentioned user is not a member. If you can�t find a mention from a friend or community which you are in, please let us know through Support and send us the link to the post. We will look for the reason for the mess-up.
How can I create a link to a user or community?
There are 2 ways:
1. *andrew Type in the symbol �*� and write the short username or ID (*id6492). You can start by typing the full name. A list of your friends� names will appear below, where you can choose the one you want using your mouse or by pressing Enter. The text may be modified a bit by removing the person�s last name and leaving only their first. Instead of �*�, you can use the �At� sign, �@�. 1. [id***|Any text] Where *** is the user ID. (club � for groups and public pages) (events � for events). Instead of id***, you can use a short name: [andy|Andrew]. This works in posts, comments, group descriptions and videos. In general, it�s supported by most of the site�s services.
How are post views counted?
Post views are counted using a special algorithm. Whether in the news feed or by switching to the page, no additional actions are needed to be done by the user.
The views are not unique. If you view a post twice in a row, the counter won�t increase. However, if you decide to return to the post after some time, it will. Other specifics of the view counter we would rather not go into so that no one tries to manipulate it for their own purposes. If you repost something, not all originals will have views counted. When there�s a repost, the repost will be viewed instead of the original. Widget views on the site so far are not counted, however we plan to change it so that they are. The same thing goes with promo posts.
Document privacy settings
When uploading a regular document in the vk.com/docs section, you can choose whether the document will be accessible to the public or not.
The overall list of your documents can only be seen by you. If you want to edit a document, hover your mouse over it and click on the pencil icon in the corner to open the editing section.
Why can�t I see how many people have viewed my post?
View counts won't be shown on posts that were posted before January 1st, 2017.
After January 1st, the counter can be found on a user�s posts on their profile as well as a community�s own posts on their community page.
How can I join the advertising network?
Any community that has access to paid post marketplace and daily reach of 10 000 users or more can join the advertising network. You can send a request to join the advertising network by clicking on "Monetization" button in your community�s settings.
Advertising network will work at full capacity, if there are no ads expected from the paid post marketplace on the next day. Status of the network gets updated daily at midnight, MSK time, and adjusts according to planned publications in the community. New scheme will be available for current participants of the network starting from October 1. The rest from September 26. Details: vk.cc/79DQ0Z (for now only available in Russian).

How can I change the size of the page or font?

How do I enable/disable dark mode on the iPhone VK app?
To enable the new design, update the app to the latest version (vk.cc/iphone), open the fifth tab in the menu, go to Settings and select �Appearance�.
Why are the fonts for different posts not the same?
In the Smart Feed and in Suggestions you may see that the font in short posts is larger than the font in longer posts. This is a new function that will soon be available to all users. The change only affects posts that do not contain media files (such as pictures, videos, etc.).

VK Calls
Now you can call your friends and family without having to leave VK. The calling feature is available in the latest versions of the Android and iOS mobile apps.
To make a call, open a friend's profile or a chat with them and tap on the phone icon in the upper right corner. You can mute your microphone, enable the speakerphone and even video chat. You can also stay on the line while you use any of the other functions on the app, with the call in the background (so far this is only available for Android, but the iOS version will be released soon). Write. Call. Video chat. VK will help you stay in touch with those closest to you.
Nemesis
As of now, creators of unique content have one less problem to deal with. Starting from June 1st, new algorithms are operating to help original content appear in the Suggestions section more frequently and receive deserved increased reach on the website. The system works in a way that ensures repeated publications are reviewed by a moderation team. If a report is deemed justified, we punish the rule breakers.
For community managers, we have a few recommendations. First of all, be sure to post original content that was personally created by you. If the community's specifics don�t allow you to be creative at all levels (for example, your community is about a TV show or another piece of art not of your making), try to work with the source material. It can be your own comment regarding a famous meme, a particular combination of picture and song or text and video, and so on. If you add your own special take to the original content, the system will have no claim to such material. �Nemesis� was created mainly to support content creators, who we want to find fans quicker, as well as for aggregators of non-original content to gradually transition to creating their own. We believe that experience will help managers of, let us say, quotation communities to take a look at their work from another angle. Add a �Dislike� button. We really need one!
�Dislike� buttons can only be found on sites where materials are publicly available. For example, YouTube uploads thousands of videos a day. Thanks to the �Dislike� button, there is the possibility of lowering the rating of videos that don�t have any value or are simply uninteresting. The same thing happens in open blogs, where everyone can post comments. The �Dislike� button serves only as a mechanism to control material.
Social networks don�t need this sort of control. You yourself control your page and choose what ends up in your feed. The �Like� function on our site is simply an element of communication as well as a way to add something to �Bookmarks� and share things with friends.
Why do you always make me type in the codes from pictures?
We are very serious when it comes to fighting spam. If you don't like typing in the codes all the time, please link a phone number to your profile. You can do that in "Settings": vk.com/settings.
Sometimes you need to type in the code when you perform a lot of similar actions or when you send comments to big and active communities. In these cases typing in the code is necessary and can't be turned off.

How can I create a poll?
To create a poll on your page, click on "What's new?" on your wall, then on "More" → "Poll". The same method applies for polls in your communities.
There are two types of polls: - Anonymous � you can only see the numbers. There is no way to know who voted for which option - Open � you can see who exactly voted for each option in the poll It�s impossible to change the type of the poll after publication.
How can I change the time settings on the site?
Our site uses the the time that is set on your device, so the first step would be to check that. It�s best to have the time set to automatically recognize which time zone you�re in.

We do not have access to payment and game systems or things sent by mail. We do not have the tools to confirm or refute its timely delivery or the product�s quality. How do I report plagiarism?
Now you can report plagiarism. Open the post's menu using the icon located in the top right corner. Then click on the �Report� button and select �Non-original content� as the reason. How do I get "Aloe" stickers?

Why can�t I open some communities on my iPhone or iPad?
Adult content is more strictly moderated on iOS apps due to App Store rules, so we have to address accounts and communities that contain such content. Their owners can contact us and we�ll see if we can do anything to change the situation for them.
Sometimes, community managers set the age restriction to be 16+ or 18+, which results in them being inaccessible. In this case, the managers can fix this themselves. However, there shouldn�t be any erotic or pornographic content in the community. You can fix the age restrictions by going to �Manage� → �Age restrictions�.
Add funds to my advertising budget
We recommend that you add funds to your advertising budget directly by using the link �add funds�, which you can find in your Personal account. We ask that you pay attention to the fact that Targeted ads and Paid post marketplace are two different sections which each has their own budget.

What are hashtags?
A hashtag is a combination of letters and numbers which starts with the symbol #. After a hashtag is published, you can click on the #hashtag to see other posts that are marked with the same hashtag.
You should keep in mind that posts from closed and private groups, as well as posts containing more than 10 hashtags, will not show up in a search.

For Windows:
Click on the Prt Scr button found in the upper right corner of the keyboard. Then click on Start→ All Programs→ Accessories → Paint. Click on �Paste� and save the file as a PNG or JPG. If you�re using the Chrome browser it�s even easier. Click Prt Scr, open a chat in which you want to send the screenshot and press Ctrl + V. For OS X: Command + Shift + 3: entire screen as a file on your desktop. Command + Shift + 4: the selected area in a file. Command + Shift + 4 + Space: program window in a file. To save the screenshot to your clipboard, you need to also press Ctrl.

You can find a small hint at vk.com/settings under �Email�. Your full email address is not displayed anywhere. We�ve made it this way to provide better security so that no one else will be able to see it.
If you wish to change your email address, you can do that in the �Email� section as well. You will just have to confirm the change by entering the code that we will send to your phone.
I�m having a problem sending and receiving voice messages
Please take a screenshot of the information from your browser console when you try to receive or send the message.
To do this, you need to: 1. Open Console (F12 or F12 + Fn � Console). 2. In the lower section of Console, find information about the error. 3. Take a screenshot of the error and send it to us. If, for some reason, nothing happens when you press F12, click on the right mouse button anywhere on the page and select "Inspect".

Although it is not a full-scale antivirus program, you will be able to get rid of potentially dangerous extensions, and, as a result, problems with the site. How do I delete a link to my page from another community�s contacts?
If you were listed in the contacts of a community you don�t moderate and want to be removed from there, simply blacklist the community (vk.com/settings?act=blacklist). Click �Add to blacklist�, then paste the link into the input window and press �Enter�.
How do you use masks?
You can find masks in stories. To do this, go to the news section on the mobile app and tap on the camera button in the upper left corner and then press on the mask symbol in the lower right corner. Here you will see popular masks. Masks are virtually placed on your face in real time. This way you can diversify your photos and videos and put smiles on peoples� faces!

Appealing strikes
Before asking a question about strikes, please read about the system�s basic principles. This article answers the most frequently asked questions.
I�ve already deleted the post. Could you remove the strike early? If you have already received a strike, deleting the post will not affect the situation. The deleted post already got a certain amount of views, likes and reposts. In essence, it did what it was supposed to do. I got this picture from an external website. I�ve never heard about this community before. This also doesn�t change anything. Nemesis is a system that encourages original content on the site. This means that the community that posted this content first is considered to be the primary source within VK, regardless of whether they�re the actual creator of this content. The picture is the same, but I added my own text to it, such as "Join". Unfortunately, adding a couple of words to a picture is not considered content processing. The post itself should be a result of your hard work. Thus, a unique combination of photo and audio, text and a GIF would protect you from Nemesis� wrath. The important thing here is to put a part of yourself into your post. I just got another strike. What happens if I get more? Will my community be blocked? Strikes come into effect after two days and are completely gone seven days after that. Nemesis doesn't have a hidden counting system. Article section for pages and communities
We added an article section for communities and pages, which is available on all platforms. For now, this section cannot be disabled.
To open the page with all of a community�s articles, you need to click on the �Articles� section or �Show all�, depending on your settings. Like any other section, you can make it the main or secondary section. If you make it the main section, followers will see article covers, their titles and the number of views they each have. The number of views won�t be shown if it�s set as the secondary section. To completely delete an article, you have to use editing mode.
Why isn�t background listening to music available on mobile devices?
In accordance with the terms of contracts reached with leading music studios in October 2017, free background listening to music on VK mobile apps will be limited to 30 minutes a day.
This is only about background listening. When the app is open, there are no limitations. Subscribers to the BOOM app (Android: vk.cc/6zIJb5, iOS: vk.cc/6F3ezq) are not affected by these limitations. In order to get rid of these limitations, you can sign up for a monthly subscription: vk.com/page-147845620_52070784. The subscription costs 149 rubles a month. Not only is listening not limited on both mobile and stationary devices, but there are no ads in between songs on all devices. The BOOM app allows you to enjoy any song offline. You cannot pay for the subscription with votes. What does �Comment deleted� mean?
If someone replied to a user�s comment and the comment was deleted, this will appear instead: �This comment has been deleted by the user or a page manager�. This way, the entire thread won�t completely disappear and the discussion can continue.
Is there a Symbian app?

Try adding the user to your blacklist. If this doesn�t fix the situation, then this is a bug. Our developers know about this bug, but a solution hasn�t been found yet. We hope that it will be fixed in the near future.

Stories archive
The archive contains all stories, even those that have been deleted, starting from 28 May. Only you can see your archived stories and you can watch or download anything from the archive.
You can delete stories from the archive, but unfortunately, you can�t send them in personal messages. When you select a specific frame, a set of them opens for that date. Find the stories archive: � In the web version: under your avatar, next to �Edit�, there will be either a separate button with the archive or a button with three dots that has the stories archive and other options. � In the mobile app: tap on the three lines icon in the lower menu → personal profile → three dots in the top right corner. � In m.vk.com: go to personal profile → tap on �Other� → �Show more�. The feature is available on all platforms.
Story replies
Now users can reply to stories. This is a new way to attract attention and make your stories into challenges for your viewers. You can reply to stories by using the arrow button in the lower left corner. You can adjust your privacy settings to limit who can reply to your stories. The number of replies will be visible near the arrow and your story will be available to everyone that you allow to comment on them.

I�m not getting birthday notifications
If a user changes their birth date less than a day before their birthday, their friends won�t get a notification. If no changes were made, then it�s a bug. Our developers know about this bug, but a solution hasn�t been found yet. We hope that it will be fixed in the near future.
Ads in my videos
We�ve come to realize the value of user-generated content monetization. For better or worse, both audio files and videos on the website serve as the perfect vehicle for advertisements, and the presence of them has nothing to do with who created the content.
The videos can contain both copyrighted content (for example, TV shows, movies, trailers, etc.) as well as material that was created and put together by users themselves. If you are the proven copyright holder of content, you might be interested in establishing a partnership with our technological partners. If the video was created by a user, then ads will be shown in them just as in other user-generated content.
Yearly Results
When you open the news feed (vk.com/feed), you should see a banner with the �Yearly Results� app. Otherwise, you can follow this link: vk.com/app6304585.
Statistics for your profile and managed communities were tallied for 2017. Likes, views, comments, new friends and followers, and the total number of posts have all been counted. The app shows the four top statistics and displays the most popular post separately.
Posters
These are new types of posts available to use on the desktop version of VK and the Android app. You are still able to view posters on the iOS app and the mobile version.
Posters have a 160 character limit or five paragraphs, in which case the limit decreases. If the character limit is exceeded, the format is switched to a regular post. The font and color of the text depend on the background, so you aren�t able to change them independently. The text is always centered, and its font size depends on the number of characters on the poster.
Why didn�t the Fox give me stickers?
Unfortunately, this special offer is over, and we don�t have any plans to start it up again.
Secret Santa for friends
Introducing a virtual variant of this popular holiday tradition. vk.com/app6767024 is a service for playing in a range of participants. To begin, open the app and copy the link as suggested by the system. With this link, you can invite specific users to join.
When everyone who wants to participate has joined, click on �Assign Secret Santas�. This will let the players know who they have to give a gift to. Whether the gift giver remains anonymous or not is up to the organizer to decide. Participants receive a notification when everybody has been assigned a Secret Santa. The game is available until 8 January.
Where can I buy souvenirs and stuff with the VK logo on them?
We opened the VK Shop so you would be able to do just that. On the official VK shop website (vk.com/shop), you can find T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, toys and blankets, all with the website logo on them. You can buy the items you like or get additional information on items through community messages.

If I�ve entered two universities in my settings, which of them will be displayed on my profile?
The logic behind how this information is displayed is not all that obvious. This part of the profile displays a user�s main education, but not necessarily their most recent one.
Users usually enter their main education as the first one on the list: 1. A user�s first higher education is most often full-time. Usually, the majority of users� classmates come from there. This is useful, as it makes searching easier. 2. A user�s second or continuing education, such as new qualifications or field specializations, often, but not always, consist of either extra courses or distance education. It would be strange if some qualifications and additional courses were displayed before your main education at the top of the list. If your main education isn�t being portrayed at the top, and you find it important that it should be, you can manually enter your education information in the correct order. However, this is more the exception than the rule.
Achievements
This is a virtual encouragement system. Achievements are personal rewards that only you know about. The system analyzes your post and story views, and if you have an unusually high number of them, you will get a notification about it. You�ll only get it once when the system detects the surge.

On the app, last month�s best authors are marked with the fire of Prometheus. You can subscribe to news from the vk.com/authors community here: vk.com/app6299850_-76477496 (so far only available in Russian). By subscribing, you will receive a daily newsletter from �VK with Authors�.
How can I create a QR code for a page, community, post, or chat?
This feature is available in the latest version of the Android and iOS VK app.
How can I get a QR code for a certain type of content? To create a QR code for your page, open your profile and tap the icon at the top. To create a code for a community, tap the three dots icon in the top right corner of the community�s page and select the appropriate option. You can get a QR code for a group chat if you go to the chat info and select �Invitation link�. To get a code for a post, tap the �Share� arrow. You can save the QR code by tapping the �Save� button. What is Lovina?
Lovina is a dating app developed by the VK Team. It can be used even without a VK account, but the registration form will be filled in automatically if you log in through VK.
Right now Lovina is being tested, but it will be launched soon. Find the latest news about the app here: vk.com/lovina. If you register in the app before its official launch, you can take advantage of our special offer and get a free premium account for one month. The account with several additional features will be activated the day Lovina is launched. To register, send a message to the official community�s chatbot and answer a few questions. Based on your answers, a profile will be created for you that other users can see. The bot will then prompt you to preorder the app in the App Store or on Google Play. Quick reactions in Stories
You can reply with stickers when viewing a story on the desktop version of the website. When you open a story for the first time, you will be shown a hint saying �Now you can quickly react to the story�. You can close the hint using the cross icon.
When you select the input field, 6 stickers will appear, each representing a popular emotion. Stickers are selected randomly from sticker packs that you own. Selecting a sticker instantly sends it to the story�s author. If you start typing a story reply, sticker hints still work like they do in messages and comments.
Music in Stories
A music section in Stories appeared only recently, and it's something we are in the process of developing and improving.
Note that an artist�s music is available in Stories only if permitted by the copyright holder (record labels and other distributors of licensed content on VK). "My music" isn't available in Stories because music has specific placement conditions that can only make it available within a certain catalog. Currently, the Stories music catalog is pretty much limited to Russian artists. This is why you can�t find foreign artists and groups in searches even when VK Music officially has their releases, and you�ve added them to your music and can listen to them. Nevertheless, the Stories catalog is expanding fast, with more and more copyright holders showing interest in this section. Soon the catalog will have a lot more music. We�re working hard on it so that you can take your Stories to the next level by finding and adding your favorite music to them.
Not all contest participants are shown in the list of reposts
Randomizer applications can count a repost from a private page, but don�t count it in results since these applications don�t have access to personal data. That�s why for the results to be correct, the contest�s instructions should mention that a profile must be public on the final day of the contest.

There are two versions of the service: on the VK Mini Apps platform (vk.com/vkapps_qr) and on a separate site (vkqr.ru).
The generator is free and offers flexible design settings. You can select the image layout and color, or upload your own photo or logo and add text. There are also several ready-to-use templates.

Sticker hints
You can set your own keywords for stickers. For this, send any message to vk.me/stickerskeywords and follow the instructions (for now only available in Russian).
On iOS, first disable hints and then enable them again. You can do this in the �My stickers� section of the stickers store: vk.com/stickers. Your search for returned no results.
Try using other keywords, e.g.: "delete profile", "create chat".

How do I delete my profile without having access to?
We can help you block a page to which you don't have access. The profile you want to block must have your real name and photos with your face. The page you are contacting us from should also have your real name and surname.
Please write us and do not forget to add the link to your page and attach two images: 1. Photo of your document (e.g., passport, driving license, birth certificate). 2. Photo of your face in front of your request (i.e. near the screen displaying your question). We need it to be sure that you are the real owner of the profile. If you send irrelevant photos, the request review time. If you want to delete the page you are contacting us from, there is no need for our help. You can do that in "Settings". After 210 days the page will be deleted forever. During this 7 month period you'll be able to restore access to the page. There is no way to delete it immediately and forever.

Even more � you can subscribe to a user�s playlist and follow all the changes in it. To edit a playlist put your cursor on its cover and tap on the pencil icon. Upload a cover, change the name, edit the description, add or delete songs. Once you update your original playlist, all its copies will be updated as well.
How can I restore deleted messages?
There is no way to restore deleted messages.
However deleting messages works just on one side � your friend still has those messages, unless he has deleted them as well. You can ask your friend to forward them to you. You can forward up to 100 messages at once. Be careful � extensions, apps and sites that promise you to restore your deleted messages are dangerous. There is nothing behind these empty promises but malware that aims to steal your passwords. By using them you risk losing money and access to your page.
An app isn't working. What should I do?
Please check if other apps are working. If they are up and running � then probably the developers of your app are currently working on it or maybe they have decided to close it completely.
Usually when things like this happen app's developers inform users about it in the official community the link to which is available under the app. You should send all your questions and concerns to this group.
Another user is using my phone number. How can I link it to my page?
Please contact our Support team. Don't forget to send us your phone number, as this will help us solve the problem much faster.
Please do not link any numbers that aren't your own. Each number can only be linked a limited number of times. It is very important that the phone number attached to your account is up-to-date and accessible, otherwise, your profile could be an easy prey to hackers and spammers. If your phone number is attached to a different page, please send us the link to this page and tell us how it happened. This will also help us solve the problem much faster.

Since you have already restored access to your account, please change your password and follow the security recommendations described here: vk.com/page-777107_1022715 (for now only available in Russian). If you follow the recommendations, chances are you won�t get hacked again. If anything is missing from your page, let us know. We�ll help you restore everything except messages, which is technically impossible. The account in question is another account that belongs to me, or a friend�s (relative�s) account. First of all try restoring access to your account here: vk.com/restore. If suspicious messages are being sent from an account (ads or requests for money), immediately mark them as spam so that we can quickly deal with the scammer. What is �Prometheus� and how can I get the fire badge?
�Prometheus� is an artificial intelligence that has been developed using machine learning technology and neural networks. We have trained it to seek out and support interesting authors. The system is constantly finding creators of unique content and follows their accomplishments. Talented users and interesting communities get a special badge in the shape of a flame as well as wider reach.
The mobile app�s �Suggestions� service shows an author�s posts to others that are not yet familiar with their works but might be interested in them. �The fire badge� is given for 7 days, which is also the amount of time the users and communities benefit from enhanced reach. This badge can be gotten more than once. Authors who continue to create and fascinate their audience will be honored by �Prometheus� again. How can I get the badge? Create unique materials and publish them on our site. This doesn�t mean that all of your materials need to be unique. If an artist posts their own work while at the same time publishing the works of an illustrator that inspires them, �Prometheus� will still honor them. But if a community�s posts only consist of links to another site, the mechanism won�t be able to determine if the material on the linked site is unique or not. If you follow this advice, but you don�t get the badge, don�t get discouraged. It doesn�t mean that your works now and in the future won�t be recognized. �Prometheus� only recently started working, but he can�t find and share all authors� interesting content at once. But the system is constantly learning and perfecting itself. Protecting the author We are teaching �Prometheus� to recognize original content and enter the source into the �Suggestions� section. In order for the algorithm to determine that your content is unique, it should be posted directly on VK. This is a form of technical protection. If you published materials on a different service or someone else beat you to posting the materials on our site, �Prometheus� won�t be able to tell that you were the author. Therefore, we advise you to upload materials directly to VK and only afterward to other places on the web. I posted content first but another user copied it. What can I do? These materials will appear in the �Suggestions� section under your name. This means that a copied post won�t attract a new audience to another user or community. How can I transfer money?
Open or start a conversation with the person to whom you would like to transfer money and click on the paperclip symbol (�Attach� button), choose �Money�, enter the sum and any comments, use a bank card and confirm the transfer. How do I remove a Happy Santa app?
You need to open the �Manage� section of the community, select �Applications�, find the app you need, then click �Edit� → �Remove application�.
